I will bless them – Naso

The law of the priestly blessing ends with the words, “They shall put My name on the Children of Israel, and I will bless them” (Num.7:27).

One view is that though the kohanim were the ones who pronounced the blessing, it was God who, using the kohanim as His agents, granted blessing to the people. The word “them” therefore indicates the people.

Another view (see the commentaries of Rashi and Abraham Ibn Ezra) is that “them” denotes the kohanim: when the kohanim carry out their God-given task, they, the kohanim, will receive a special blessing from God.
