Tazria deals with ailments and illnesses whilst Sh’mini ends with the laws of permitted and forbidden foods. The commentators note that what you eat affects the rest of your body.
Maimonides goes further and shows how far in advance of his times he was as a physician. He sees the human being as a whole. Nothing is separate or independent, neither the various parts of the physical person nor their physical as against their mental and emotional state.
Body and soul are intertwined and must be watched over together.
