    Ear, hand & foot – T’tzavveh

Three parts of the high priest’s person had to be especially dedicated to the Divine service – the ear, the hand and the foot (Ex. 29:20).

The ear had to hear the woes and wishes of the people. A spiritual leader who does not know how his people are feeling is incompetent even though he may be a fine scholar and teacher.

His hand must not just be outstretched to receive the people’s offerings but spread out to bring them the Divine blessing.

His foot must not only run to carry out his ritual functions but hasten to bring help and support to all who need it.
