    Holy & human – Mishpatim

The Torah says, anshei kodesh tih’yun li – “You shall be holy people to Me” (Ex. 22:30).

Literally the words anshei kodesh mean “holy men” or “holy humans”.

The Kotzker Rebbe understood the words to mean, “Be holy as humans”. Don’t pretend to be gods, but bring holiness into your humanness.

Whatever you do as a human being, be honest, truthful, just, loving and compassionate – holy as a human.
