    Things can change – M’tzora

ClockMuch of this week’s reading is devoted to processes of purification.

An important element in purification is time. Impurity is not forever, nor is purity. The impure can become pure, the pure can become impure. Both depend on the passing of a set number of days.

In life too. There is no guarantee that a stance you take up today will not be changed with the passing of time. If you have a problem or some other distress, it can pass or soften. If you are in the flush of joy, it can evaporate. Even if you are exhilarated by belief or certainty, it is susceptible to attack.

We can each try to make problems pass away, hope happiness will linger and enable belief to surmount anything that might undermine it.
